Data methodology
How RFPlease handles procurement data.
The public catalog is an aggregation and discovery layer. It preserves source identifiers and sends users to the official agency record for verification and response.
Collection
RFPlease gathers public opportunity data from agency APIs, feeds, and public procurement pages. Source-specific collectors normalize records into a common schema without submitting responses or representing a vendor.
Normalization
- Preserve the source solicitation number and source URL.
- Normalize agency, jurisdiction, stage, status, posted date, due date, value, and set-aside when available.
- Retain missing values as not published instead of inventing them.
- Consolidate source data for discovery while treating the official record as authoritative.
Freshness and changes
Refresh timing varies by source. A page may lag an agency amendment, deadline change, cancellation, or award. Users should verify the official source immediately before acting.
Public and private data
Public pages contain factual discovery fields and source links. Personalized fit, company documents, readiness analysis, saved searches, and alerts remain private to authenticated product workflows.
Limitations
Coverage is expanding and is not yet every US procurement source. Some portals restrict access or publish incomplete metadata. RFPlease does not guarantee completeness, eligibility, or award outcomes.
